What is search engine optimization (SEO)?
Basically, SEO is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a website from search engines via the natural (organic) search results for certain keywords.
Keywords are the important words that your potential patient types into Google when doing a search.
For example, let’s say a potential patient types “how do I relieve migraine headaches naturally,” the keywords in this case are relieve, migraine, headaches, naturally.
So you want your website to be written and published in such a way that when a person searches using these keywords, Google serves up your page as the most relevant to their search.
Why is this important to you as an upper cervical chiropractor?
Well, let me ask you this: which of the following do you think is more effective marketing –
- Running an ad in the local newspaper advertising your clinic, hoping that the right person reads your ad at a time when they are primed to react to it?
or
- A person with a headache searches for relief and finds your website on Google when they perform the search?
Seems sort of obvious, doesn’t it.
SEO isn’t hard, or rocket science, but it is work and does require a certain level of skill.
